communicator book developer life storyteller

I provide writing services for individuals, families, businesses, and communities from my home base in Madison, Wisconsin. Typical projects include books, articles, online content, and life histories.

For twelve years I directed my own marketing communication firm. After the sale of that business I built a freelance writing/consulting practice. I provide marketing communications and how-to advice for small businesses. This experience led me to write several books for business managers and to write articles for young people on consumer awareness and media literacy.

When I'm not working on my own writing, I help other authors prepare their books for publication.

The latest addition to my scope of interest is life story writing. When I learned about this field, I discovered my professional skills and my personal interests weaving together. Today I help individuals, families, businesses and communities record their stories for presentation in book form and more. I also facilitate life story writing workshops and hands-on intergenerational programs exploring personal history.

An East Side Album: A Community Remembers
An East Side Album features memories and memorabilia that tie past to present in one of Madison’s historic neighborhoods. To celebrate the Grand Opening of the Goodman Community Center I was commissioned to direct this self-publishing project, resulting in contributions from 109 East Siders past and present filling over 160 pages with photos, stories, and recipes.
